ICAEW & CFAB

About ICAEW
ACA stands for Associate Chartered Accountant and is the professional qualification of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). The Institute was established by Royal Charter in 1880
and, being a leading UK body of finance professionals offering world class qualifications, is now a key influencer on
the International stage. As the largest professional accountancy body
in Europe - with over 134,000 current members working in business and public practice in 160 different countries - ACA's
are well recognised and valued internationally as well as throughout the UK.
To achieve the ACA qualification you must
complete a training contract which will typically last between 3 and 5 years, pass the Institute examinations and complete
the work experience requirements. Holding the ACA qualification ensures
that your career will be rewarding, diverse and full of opportunity.
June/July 2012 ICAEW Courses
For the First Half of 2012 we will be offering
Professional Knowledge Level courses in Accounting and Management Information and the corresponding Application Level
Course for Financial Accounting and Financial Management. In addition Financial Reporting will also be offered at the Application
Level. Please note that students taking the Application papers must also do the corresponding Knowledge paper at
this sitting. The timetables and courses are designed around this principle in order to ensure that students have a thorough
grounding in the Knowledge material to ensure success in the written Application exams in December.
For
students who have now completed TI (or those converting from ICAI who may have exemptions) we will be running an Advanced
Case Study preparation course for the July 2012 sitting. We have a leading UK Case Study expert delivering this programme
here in Dubai and it is split into a Tuition Block in May and a Revision Block close to the exam in July. Please
see below for all details and downloads.
Please
note that in order for you to complete your ICAEW studies you will need to enter into a training contract with an Authorised
Training Organisation (ATO). This means that you will have to seek employment with one of the growing number of approved firms
and businesses or alternatively secure the registration of your current employer through the ATO scheme. The Institute is
keen to approve new businesses for the training of ICAEW students so if you think this second option may be of interest please
contact our office and we will be able to help and advise.
Please remember that you do not have to be working for an ATO to
intially commence your ICAEW studies and note that there are significant exemptions for those holding other accounting qualifications
who wish to top up to add the ICAEW to their CV. Please telephone or email if you require
further support or guidance with regard to pursuing this qualification.
